―入社を決めた理由を教えてください。
学生時代に画像処理を学んでいたため、その知識を活かせるメーカーに絞って就職活動を進める中で、浜松ホトニクスに出会いました。浜松ホトニクスはセンサなどのデバイスを作っているイメージが強かったのですが、カメラなどを用いたシステム製品も手掛けていることを知り、学生時代に学んだことを活かすことができる環境があると感じました。また、学部卒での入社に対して漠然とした不安がありましたが、当社主催のイベントや説明会にて、成長を支援するサポート体制が整っていることを知り、迷いなく入社を決めました。
―入社後もイメージしていたやりたい仕事はできていますか?
画像処理のためのプログラミングなど、製品化までの工程のうち、担当できるのは一部のみだと入社前は思っていました。しかし、実際に働いてみると、製品の構想段階からお客さまとの仕様検討、納品まで幅広く携わることができています。そこに、良い意味でのギャップを感じています。自分が実装した機能でお客様に喜んでいただけるなど、生の声を聞けることもあり、非常にやりがいを感じています。
―これまで特に印象に残っている仕事はなんですか?
私は、半導体故障解析装置の制御ソフトウエア開発をメインに行っており、新しい検出手法の開発に取り組んだことが特に印象に残っています。半導体の微細化に伴い、従来の半導体故障解析装置では測定が難しいという課題に対して、検出器の種類や数を増やし、より細かい部分を見られるように改良した一方、その分ソフトウエアの制御が困難となってしまいました。ですが、業務を一人で考えるのではなく、同じ部署のメンバーと議論しながら実験を進めることで、その問題を解決していくことができました。議論の中で初めてわかることも多く、その試行錯誤を行う過程が開発の醍醐味だと感じました。また、当社の半導体故障解析装置には、他部署の製品が部品として組み込まれており、お客様の課題に対し、部品レベルから他部署も巻き込んで取り組むことができています。
―これから一緒に働きたいと思う人はどんな人ですか?
正直で素直な方だと嬉しいです。浜松ホトニクスでは、さまざまな分野で学んできた人が集まり、一緒にモノづくりをしています。そのため、異なる分野の人にもわかりやすく説明できる力や、困ったときに素直に助けを求められる力が大切だと感じています。業務を進める上で、自分の力だけでは解決できないことが多々あります。当社には、困ったときに助けてくれる人が多くいますので、協力しながら問題を解決していくことが重要です。わからないことがあれば、そのままにせず、自分からアクションを起こして話を聞きに行くことで、自分自身の成長にもつながると思っています。
