担当業務 | センサICのアナログ回路設計を担当。電子機器や半導体などの設計作業を自動化して支援するEDAツールを使って、トランジスタやダイオードをはじめとする大規模集積回路(LSI)を設計している。設計に必要な引き出しを増やすため、先輩が設計した回路を検証することも多い。 |
―どんなところに惹かれて、浜松ホトニクスに入社しましたか?
主に2つあります。1つはスペシャリストが揃っている会社なので、自分も大学で学んだ知識を生かして専門性を磨きたいと考えたからです。もう1つは職場の雰囲気の良さです。私たちの年代は新型コロナウイルス感染拡大の影響で、インターンシップや会社説明会が相次いで中止になりました。その中で、浜松ホトニクスは定期的に座談会を開き、実際に働いている先輩たちとオンラインで話す機会をつくってくれました。先輩たちの話からは仕事への情熱や好奇心を感じました。この環境に身を置けば、自分も成長できると確信しました。
―大学で学び、現在の仕事にもしている回路設計には、どのようなおもしろさがありますか?
回路設計の中でも私が担当しているアナログの部分は、設計者の創意工夫で性能が変わります。ロジックを知っておくことが大前提で、プラスアルファがないと良い製品になりません。そのアイデアが設計者の腕の見せ所です。知れば知るほど回路の奥深さを感じますし、新しい知識や引き出しが増えると自分の成長も実感できるところに魅了されています。先輩は自分で考えて行動するタイプが多く、設計や製品を見ると参考になる点が多いです。中には、「こんなアイデアを思いつくとは」と驚くものもあります。先輩たちにはしつこいぐらい質問して、教わったことはメモに残しています。
―浜松ホトニクスの強みを教えてください。
私の部署で言えば、扱っているセンサICの種類が多いところです。会社としては研究、開発、設計、製造と各分野に専門家がいるので、お客さまの幅広い要望に応えられます。街中でも家庭でも、世界中でセンサのない場所はありません。浜松ホトニクスは社会を豊かにする重要な役割を担っている企業だと思います。
―扱うセンサの種類が多くなると、入社後に覚えるべきことが増えると思います。苦労や不安はありませんか?
不安がないわけではありませんが、勉強することがたくさんあり、分からない部分があるほど楽しさを感じます。それだけ、エンジニアとしての技術を高めるチャンスがあるわけですから。回路設計は、まだ知らないことの方が圧倒的に多いです。全てを理解するまでには至らなくても、知識や経験を積み重ねて自分が満足するレベルまで達したいと思っています。
